V&M Venus and Mars Emu Mineral Lip Butter Tint: A Review

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Hiya!

I'm doing another V&M review. This time on their new lip butter tint (which apparently can also double as cheek tint although I've never tried that)

I have mine in Cherry Berry. It's my new fave! I actually wanted to get Pink Posies at first but the online seller I've been buying from did not have that in stock so I got to try this. I was a little hesitant because it looks like a dark shade from the container but it gives a lighter shade when applied.

Here's what it says on their website:

Make sure you only use products with authentic high-grade ingredients down to the base oils. Do not be fooled by seemingly essential ingredients. A premium item is great up to the last drop of oil.

Break free from chemicals! Give your lips the authentic, lavish pampering it has always wanted. Made out of the finest essential oils, lips will surely be younger-looking in no time. There’s nothing more it could ever ask. Not at all heavy on the lips!

Ingredients: EMU Oil, Castor Bean Oil, Almond Oil, Carnauba Wax, Mica, Peppermint, Beeswax, Vitamin E Oil (now FORTIFIED with SPF15)

AVAILABLE IN FOUR EXCITING SHADES:

1. Pink Posies - A really great pink shade! Not too overpowering at all. Your lips will look naturally pink and stunning. Great for day and even night wear! (Even I am surprised to love a shade like this one, you may think it's too pink for your taste at first glance, but this baby will prove you otherwise!). Now live like a Barbie girl like you've always dreamed of.)

2. Cherry Berry - Lips only better! Now get ready for that sexy kiss!

3. Salmon Peach - A natural looking shade, may be nude, may be a bit peachy. Great for day wear to create a perfectly neat and sophisticated look.

4. Wine Pearl - Take this pick if you go for a natural look, honey. You will never go wrong with this on a casual catch up with a friend.

Here's what I have to say:

PROS:
- has SPF
- cherry berry looks natural

CONS:
- none

The first time I used it, it wouldn't color my lips and it didn't glide smoothly. But after that initial application, everything's good! I don't know about it's moisturizing ability as I have never worn this alone - always over clear lip balm. I also don't swipe it on my lips, I just dab because I don't want to overdo it. I find that this method doesn't make me look like I'm wearing any lip tint. I actually am not a fan of lipsticks/lip tints that are unnatural-looking.

Would I repurchase? Yes, but that's a long time from now, my dabbing method is very economical :)

I'd like to try Pink Posies next!
